Nutty Novelties
Nutty Novelties is a small, family-operated nut butter company founded by Caleb Mangum in 2012. The business began as an experiment at the Lansdale Farmers’ Market, where Caleb’s original idea was to offer a build-your-own trail mix bar. When the trail mix concept did not take off as expected, a friend suggested experimenting with natural nut butters—and Nutty Novelties found its specialty.
By 2014, the company had shifted entirely to prepackaged nut butters. Nutty Novelties expanded into additional farmers’ markets and began supplying locally focused specialty retailers. The business is now operated by brothers Caleb and Jesse Mangum, along with a small team that produces the nut butters in Telford, Pennsylvania.
Each variety is freshly ground and made by hand in small batches using simple ingredients. The company’s philosophy is to keep the natural flavor of the nuts at the center of every recipe while maintaining a balance of high protein and relatively low sugar. Its line has grown to include classic smooth and crunchy peanut butter, almond butter, cashew butter, pistachio butter and creative flavors such as Dark Chocolate Almond Butter, Wild Espresso Peanut Butter and Habanero Honey Peanut Butter.
What began as a farmers’ market experiment has grown into a recognizable Pennsylvania specialty-food company. Nutty Novelties continues to combine traditional small-batch production with playful flavors, creating nut butters that can be enjoyed as spreads, dips, baking ingredients, smoothie additions or simply by the spoonful.
