Why We Chose It
There’s a Reason It’s Here.
Route 11 turns an iconic American snack into something worth slowing down for. We love its independent spirit, connection to Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley, thoughtful potato sourcing, and lineup of flavors that ranges from wonderfully simple to unapologetically bold. Even the name recalls the pleasure of discovering something delicious along an old American highway.
Meet the Maker
Taking the Scenic Route to a Better Potato Chip
Route 11 Potato Chips began in 1992, when founder Sarah Cohen started making chips in an old feed store in Middletown, Virginia. Named for the historic highway running through the Shenandoah Valley, the independent company now kettle-cooks its chips at its Mount Jackson factory. Route 11 works with potato growers along the East Coast—sourcing from Virginia when the season allows—and continues to give every batch the time and attention needed to achieve its signature golden crunch.
