A Pennsylvania Family Apiary with a Savory Side
Awckland’s Sugar Shack & Apiary began in Quakertown, Pennsylvania, with one backyard hive in 2012. Although that first colony did not survive the year, it inspired the family to study beekeeping, learn from other apiarists, and steadily grow their operation. Today, Mike and his daughter Sarah help care for approximately 250 hives across Bucks, Berks, Lehigh, and Montgomery counties while creating local honey, imaginative spreadable honeys, and other products from the apiary.
