The Goldenberg family first made Peanut Chews in Philadelphia in 1917, developing them as a ration bar for U.S. service members during World War I. Their combination of peanuts, chew, and chocolatey flavor went on to become a lasting local favorite.
Just Born acquired the brand in 2003 and continues to make Goldenberg’s Peanut Chews in Philadelphia. More than a century after their introduction, the candy remains connected to the city where its story began.
