The candy’s earlier chapter
Cup-O-Gold: From Hoffman to Adams & Brooks
Cup-O-Gold’s story begins with the Hoffman Candy Company of Los Angeles, a family candy business founded in 1911. Hoffman created the chocolate cup with almonds, coconut, and a creamy center that became a California favorite during the 1950s, 1960s, and early 1970s.
Adams & Brooks later acquired Cup-O-Gold and continues to produce it today. Its place in the Adams & Brooks lineup carries forward a piece of Los Angeles candy history, connecting the Hoffman company’s original creation with new generations of candy lovers.
